What is a virtual desktop infrastructure?
Virtual desktops sound like complicated magic, but they’re not. Instead of an operating system like Windows being installed on a laptop, desktop or thin client, it’s hosted on a server – which can be anywhere. When the user turns on the ‘local’ or ‘host’ machine, it boots from the secure server – over the Internet or network – and then works exactly as it normally would.
